After more than 2 years of waiting and months of false alarm, we finally got our house keys on 29 May! Looks like Far East need a lot of pushing. If we did not chase them, may not even hear from our lawyer yet.
On the night before we collect keys, I was so excited that I couldn't sleep. My hb has to coax me to sleep. Even then, I think I slept at 2+. We were looking forward to moving to our new house and I have been trying to visualise how our new home will look like after renovation. We have already confirmed our ID, just waiting for our keys so tat they can start work asap. Duno why although we know we have exceeded our budget, we are confident that our ID will deliver quailty work and complete on time.
Our ID Vontey Design Consultant is a new set-up. Our friends have recommended their ID to us and it happen that their ID Martin has left his previous company and set up a new ID with another partner. His partner Yvonne is also a professional designer and she has done up showflat like St Regis and The Sail in her previous company, so we are very confident that they will make our home very beautiful and unique. Indeed, some of the ideas she proposed are very refreshing and new to us. But of course, everything comes with a price. When they send us the 1st quote, we almost fall off from the chair, it's more than twice our budget! Too bad we love their designs and even my very cost-conscious hb is willing to increase our budget as he feels like not only are we paying for their designs, we are also paying for their service and ease of mind. In the end, we just have to cut a few items without compromising too much on the overall design concept and our needs.
Just bought our LCD TVs at PC show 2 days ago, now waiting to meet up with our ID to confirm everything so that they can start work next Wed. Looks like there's a lot more work to do. Need to confirm our furniture, buy lights and some other fixtures. Target to move in before Chinese 7th month (ie. 1 Aug), so got to hurry up liao. Can be tiring but quite fun :)
